SYNOPSIS

Ezequiel dreams of playing jazz in a theatre, not in the basement where he works as a guard.

Everything gets messy when he finds himself immersed in an investigation with Rubén, as Senator Lorena asks them to follow her husband, Juan, for cheating.

When Juan discovers Ezequiel’s dark past, everything becomes dangerous, and Juan threatens them.

When they tell Lorena everything, she wants to blackmail Luis Carlos, a banker friend of Juan’s, to support her candidacy.

This film isn’t just about delivering punchlines and tapping into the raw emotions that make us human. Through humor, we’ll navigate the intricate dance of relationships, the healing power of forgiveness, and the transformative journey of redemption.

I envision a comedy that doesn’t shy away from the messy, awkward, or bittersweet moments of life but embraces them wholeheartedly. It’s about finding the absurdity in our struggles, the laughter in our tears, and the hope in our darkest moments.

I’m looking to unravel the layers of human relationships, using humor to address deep-seated needs for connection and understanding.

Nicolás Reyes

NICOLÁS REYES, Colombian writer, 48 years old, with more than two decades of experience in the field. He started as an assistant director, in which he was part of massive projects in America, Africa and Asia, leading gigantic multinational teams to achieve extraordinary projects. As a director, he began his career in advertising, working for major brands at a regional level, and then moved on to fiction, working with great success for international production companies in

Colombia and other Latin American countries. He is Recursive, with a keen sense of aesthetics and composition and a deep relationship with his actors.

Red Collision, established in 2017 is an audiovisual production company with more than six years of experience that reshapes entertainment with original films, gripping genre series, and top-tier production services. In 2020 they produced their first feature film called UN TAL ALONSO QUIJANO, directed by LIBA STELLA GÓMEZ with the support of Dago García Producciones and Caracol Televisión; it was released in 2021 with a digital strategy, reaching more than 500,000 viewers.

It also has a portfolio of projects in development for sale. Its feature film “The Trail” is a crime thriller that won the FDC in the category of post-production and will be released in 2024. Currently, 4 more projects are underway, 2 in post-production: “I call them souls” and “Enemy in the mirror” and 2 scheduled for filming in 2024, all slated for release between 2025 and 2026.

In “THE TRUTH ABOVE ALL,” the visual transformation of the characters and narrative weave together to create an immersive cinematic experience that reflects their evolution from innocence to empowerment.

Through acting, costume design, cinematography, locations, and visual motifs, the film unfolds a rich tapestry of symbolism and dramatic tension. This visual transformation mirrors their evolution from

naivety to empowerment, a subtle yet powerful reflection of their journey.

Acting: Neorealism in Extreme Circumstances

In “The Truth Above All,” the approach to acting draws inspiration from neorealism, where the authenticity of performances is paramount. The actors genuinely embody their characters, allowing the comedy and drama to emerge not from exaggerated performances but from the extreme

circumstances in which the story unfolds.

The characters navigate a world of political intrigue and personal deception, and their reactions are grounded in the reality of their situations. Whether it’s the protagonist, a humble guard, or the cunning female politician, the actors bring a rawness to their performances that allows the audience to connect with the characters on a deeper, more human level.

Broken mirrors will help us realize that all we are seeing are just bits and pieces of the real story.

Using reflections we will split the image and make people realize there is something hidden, there’s always something else we are not part of.

The Chess

Is an integral part of our world, both as a way to spend time at the front desk of the building but also as a game played behind everybody’s back, but in plain sight.
